What later became AAF Austin was founded in 1932 as the Men’s Advertising Club of Austin.

AAF Austin connects passionate, creatively-driven advertising professionals to foster innovation within the local communication arts industry. Our network of individuals and corporate partners support opportunities for growth through social events, education, awards shows, and legislative advocacy.

What later became AAF Austin was founded in 1932 as the Men’s Advertising Club of Austin.

Both the Department of Marketing and the School of Journalism formally recognized an undergraduate major in advertising.

The Department of Advertising is established in UT’s College of Communication, to meet the increasing needs of advertising education.

From 2010–2013, AAF Austin earned the prestigious Division 1 Club of the Year Award, besting AAF clubs from the nation’s largest advertising markets. (The competition is based on eight club achievement categories). AAF Austin again earned the prestigious Division 1 Club of the Year Award for 2018-2019 and 2020-2021.

In 2012, Austin played host to the District 10 convention.

GSD&M honored with the Governor’s Award at the Southwest Advertising Hall of Fame.
